Frequently Asked Questions:
Most of my clients begin planning their Louisville newborn photography experience while they’re still expecting—usually in the first or second trimester. This gives us time to thoughtfully plan both maternity and newborn portraits, while also ensuring availability.
I take on a limited number of newborn sessions each month so every family receives a truly personalized experience. If your baby has already arrived, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’ll always check my calendar for you.
WHEN ARE NEWBORN SESSIONS SCHEDULED?
Newborn sessions are typically held within the first few weeks after your baby is born, when they’re still tiny, sleepy, and naturally curled.
Once your baby arrives, we’ll confirm your session date right away so you don’t have to think twice about it. Those early days can feel like a blur, and my goal is to make this part feel easy and fully taken care of.
Can parents and siblings be part of the session?
Without a doubt. Your baby’s first portraits should include you.
The way you hold them, the way they fit so perfectly in your arms—those are the images that will mean the most as the years pass. Your Louisville newborn photography session will include a mix of baby-only portraits and quiet, connected moments with your family.
If you have older children, I’ll guide them gently so everything feels relaxed and natural for everyone involved.
What does my baby need to wear?
Less truly is more here.
I provide everything needed for your baby—soft wraps, timeless white pieces, and delicate details for girls. The focus is always on your baby, not distractions.
Keeping things simple not only creates a more refined, classic look, but it also helps your baby stay calm and comfortable throughout the session.
How does the investment work?
To reserve your Louisville newborn photography session, a session fee is required. After your session, you’ll select from a small number of curated collections based on what you love most.
Many families choose collections that include both digital images and tangible artwork, like albums or framed pieces for their home.
You’ll receive full pricing details ahead of time so you can plan with confidence and clarity.
Do you help with albums and artwork?
Yes—and this is where everything comes together.
After your session, I’ll help you turn your images into something lasting, whether that’s a custom-designed album or artwork for your walls. These pieces are created to feel timeless in your home and to hold meaning long after this stage has passed.
